SECURITY FOR ALL Security, economy and humanitarian issues. Aleksandr Lukashenko participated in the SCO summit in Bishkek. The Belarusian president noted in his speech: "The SCO is one of the most important pillars of stability in Eurasia. And today it is necessary to create new security architecture in this space". DEEPENING TIES WITH LAOS On the sidelines of the summit SCO, the President of Belarus met with the President of Laos. Aleksandr Lukashenko called for more intensive work between the two countries. Belarus is ready to expand cooperation in a wide range of areas. COOPERATION ENFORCEMENT Documents marking the launch of joint Belarusian-Kyrgyz transformer assembly plant were signed in Bishkek. This is a significant cooperation project and one of the first in the manufacturing sector. The technology has been set up since February by specialists from Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V. I. Kozlov. The transformer equipment will eventually be supplied to the country's national power grid, partially replacing exports from Russia and China. PARLIAMENTARY TIES Minsk and Tbilisi are developing economic cooperation and intensifying interparliamentary dialogue. This was discussed during the meeting between the Chaiman of the House of Representatives and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus. Friendship groups operate between the parliaments. Priority areas include tourism and trade. HOSPITALITY WITHOUT VISA Belarus consistently promotes the principles of peace and hospitality. A striking example is its visa-free entry. This has naturally resulted in increased tourist interest in Belarus. Since the beginning of the year alone, over 160.000 foreigners have taken advantage of visa-free opportunity to visit our country. Travel activity has increased during the summer holidays. People travel to Belarus to visit relatives and for a comfortable vacation. MORE THAN JUST BIKES Speed, drive, and adrenaline. Last weekend the quiet Lida district was filled with the roar of thousands of iron horses. The 18th International Lida Motorcycle Festival took place there. The number plates on the bikes reflect the wide geography of the participants – in addition to Belarus and Russia, guests came from Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Germany, and the UK.
