My most valuable artworks — months of work, were thrown away and destroyed in seconds just after my first solo exhibition. This isn’t just about me or my Versingforms practice. It’s about how art is treated, about what people value, about fate of physical artworks and what happens to them when originals are destroyed, and what this case means for artists everywhere. [00:00] Art Destroyed by Mistake: my best works were mistakenly discarded after my first solo show. In general, the worst experience of ,y artistic career.
[00:46] Irreplaceable Loss: My artworks, including a historic visual interpretation of John’s Testament and a large sculpture of a city I now live in, held significance for various communities and art vultures, but they cannot be reproduced.
[01:31] Independent Artist: I am totally self-funded, also rely on video production for income, and create Versingforms visual art to spark dialogue and connection between communities, with the help of experimental calligraphy and textual verbal art turning into images.
[02:17] Reflection and Moving Forward: Despite the loss, I now want to continue my Versingforms artistic practice and build discussions on protecting artwork and raising many, many interesting questions.
[02:54] Storage Issue: Due to space constraints, I have followed security’s advice to store the works in a shared area under surveillance but was later informed they were removed.
[03:34] Miscommunication Led to Destruction: I also left contact information, expecting to be informed before any action, but upon returning, found the works had been destroyed.
[04:16] Warning to Artists: Oh how I caution other artists about safeguarding their work. Years of effort were lost due to an irreversible mistake.
[05:00] The Emotional and Artistic Impact: The loss alters their planned video documentation of the exhibition and this gives it a tragic (?) undertone.
[05:42] Public Appeal: Here I seek support, engagement, and discussion about preventing such things and I highlight society’s disregard for modern art.
