If Vader managed to pack Hangar 1819 to the brim almost a year ago, back in October 2025, the situation was very different this time around. Right after American death metal veterans Jungle Rot finished their set, the venue was roughly half empty. There are a couple of possible explanations: September is absolutely packed with shows across the U.S., or perhaps last year’s opening lineup was simply more appealing to the local crowd. Either way, Vader themselves are still in great shape — especially considering they were already well into a grueling tour with shows scheduled almost every day. There was, however, one uncomfortable thing that was hard to ignore. Vader vocalist and guitarist Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek was visibly struggling with some of his vocal parts. At 60, that’s hardly surprising, but for longtime fans, it’s also a sobering reminder that even legendary bands don’t go on forever. That makes seeing Vader live all the more important right now. While they’re still hitting the road and taking the stage, don’t put it off.
