Elections and referendum in Moldova had both expected and unexpected result. The chances for the victory of President Sandu and her course were extremely small. In recent years, the country has not demonstrated much success in any of the spheres of foreign and domestic policy. However, Maia Sandu still made it to the second round, which, meanwhile, does not promise her an easy victory. What was unexpected was the fact that during the Moldovan vote the European pressure to achieve the results desired by Brussels was almost a failure. In the second round of voting, it is the aggressive position of the EU that remains the factor ensuring the unpredictability of the result of the presidential election.
